In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret group.
The mission concentrates on "peculiar trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special weapons

Newest Free Story Content
This release also brings the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
