It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her newest gem.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was far harder to predict.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed Australia needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this championship should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.
